Potemkin - No Fear !

#1 Post by rashomon »

Hi all

I've finally received my Potemkin CD that I ordered from BangCD

The sticker on the cellophane wrapper reads: "Feautuing Hit Single: No Fear For Tears"

So is this a dodgy copy?!

Anyone else receive one with this on the front?

Cheers

Well, this seems more a mistake on EMI's behalf and not the band's like the Heart debacle was.

But the most glaring mistake is of course printing the words "hit single" on the sticker.

Exactly, "shit single" has two 's's'.

No, that would be Pot-whatever instead of Pokemon.
Does cameos only.

perhaps it's a message to Butler and Anderson that despite the reviews and sales it is not all over
Still waiting to hear the Adam Freeland, Manhattan Clique and Axwell mixes of Integral.

Hilarious! - It clearly shows how confused EMI were about this release.

It's very weird: EMI decided to give the soundtrack a low-key release by Tennant/Lowe. A different option would have been to promote it as a proper PSB release, accompanied by a single. This sticker - weirdly enough - has a bit of both: it obviously mentions "Tennant/Lowe", yet it also mentions the "hit single" No Fear For Tears. A weird contradiction... Very confusing.

btw: It's not the first time that a PSB album comes with a sticker that mentions a song that wasn't a single at all. Some copies of Very had sticker that said: "Features Can You Forgive Her, Go West and A Different Point Of View". Apparently ADPOV was considered as a single release, at some point.

Ehm.... Quoting Neil : "It´s a bootleg. Destroy it immediately."

Chris:
-I´ve got a 12-inch plonker.

Yeah, kinda strange CD you got from them. CD for the European market is Copy controlled and you should see it through a case on a left side. Cd for the UK market comes in a cardboard slipcase. You don't have neither Copycontrol sign nor slipcase - so it's a bootleg. Did you open it?
