i honestly think its a bit silly to suggest that psb not come to canada because of this issue. if that were the case, then there should be no concerts in the entire world, because every band should be standing up for some "issue" in some country.

perhaps psb shouldn't release fundamental here either? that would be a good sign of protest.

(oh and if i didn't mention it i'm speaking as a Canadian)

The killing of seals and other marine creatures has been going on
on Canada's East Coast for centuries. Before European settlers. the
Native population sustained themselves this way.

Locals also sustain themselves this way, for those of you not familiar
with the economy of Newfoundland & Labrador, marine harvesting is
the mainstay of the economy.

If killing animals is wrong, why are millions of cows and chickens and
pigs killed each year? No one seems to care about them, and often, they
do not meet with a humane end either. Do some investigation.

This may come off as cynical, but I think it is more realistic:
If seals were hideous, nobody would care. But they're not. They're
cute.

I think this speaks to a rather bigger problem. Humans don't seem to mind
the slaughter of other humans quite so much. Same for cows, chickens and a
host of other species that are killed to make leather furniture, jackets and
keep Mc Donald's in business.

Can anyone else see the hypocrisy here? Honestly ask yourself that.
And before you ask- yes I am a Canadian.
It's not that I'm against killing seals, Im not. I'm against HOW they are killed and WHY they are killed. I think the how and why are know by all.

The earth is obviously over populated but I think that some day this problem will solve itsself.
THE FUTURE THAT YOU ANTICIPATED HAS BEEN CANCELLED

Here is some information for those who may be interested
in how the seal hunt is regulated and operated

http://www.dfo-mpo.gc.ca/media/infomedi ... im01_e.htm

It's worth a read.

I am from Canada. and this Petition is the most stupid, ignorant, manipulative, argument I have ever heard!!
This is the typical tactic of tree hugging buffoons that have nothing better to do than force their opinions down other people throat!! This is so F@#ing indirect its not even funny. What like the small amount of die hard PSB fans are going to be able to do anything about this! It's just going to hurt the PSB by not creating any new fans.
I DON'T support the Seal hunt!! I don't know about the people that live there because its 3000+ miles away from where i live so I can't say there is no reason for it. I don't shoot gofers I don't hunt a all. However this is not an effective way of doing anything about it.
This kind of tactics just piss people off and is the reason why there is not more support for these "Green" Initiative.
And PLEASE do some F@#ING research on why these things happen before you just see cute seals getting beat to death. If I showed you pigs going to the slaughter and having a rod shot through their head before there belly is slashed and their guts falling to the floor. Now just think about that great bacon and sausage you had for breakfast today :!:

This is about as stupid as naming your french fries "Freedom Fries" TOTALY ineffective!!
DO you really think any of the people beating seals have ever even heard of the PSB?!

@#$%^%#$%$@#@#%#$^^&#$%!!!!!!!!! :!: :!: :!: :!: :D

This S@#T pisses me off so bad I can't even express my pissed off ness properly

excuse my rant :D

I think Chris Lowe belongs to Greenpeace. So I hope he protests somehow or do something against these seals killing.

I don't agree with the seal hunt, but your arguement is full of holes.

Do your homework. We do not have a President!

Spain overfishes, and Canada had to actually seize Spanish Trawllers who illegally fish with those big nets which grab everything.

If the PSB does not come here, would be my loss, but have no impact what so ever on the government, or the seal hunt.

Alright, if you wanna get to the core of the matter, talk to
Liz Windsor (aka Queen Elizabeth II)

She is Canada's highest Head of State.

I'm totally against the cull on the grounds that it is allegedly there to prevent extinction of some fish species. People continue to eat fish even though they are warned that levels are seriously low. Has our government threatened a cull on all humans who decide to eat cod or haddock?

I think the PSBs should make a statement during the concert that they're strongly against it - you're right, Shameless, Chris is a member of Greenpeace so he should do anything and Neil is a very kind and goodnatured person so I think he is strongly against these awful seals-killing too so they both should protest but not by cancelling concerts.
