It did not deserve a red card. He was busy with the football at first. And the referee knows that the Portugese are dramatic play-actors.

Lets face it, the next time Scotland get knocked out a major competition (if they ever get that far) the BBC will probably play the theme from Laurel and Hardy. The difference is I wont be cheering on the opposition just because they are playing Scotland.

You always get that though. Even at club level. The bigger the team, the more they are disliked. If Ireland, Wales and Scotland were better than England, i'd want them to get beat. The so called 'neutrals' always go with the underdog and will always hate their rivals. It's human nature and it makes for great banter, as long as it doesn't go over the top. All us English were laughing when Ireland, Wales and Scotland didn't qualify and we gave out stick, so we have to take it as well. Even so, i would like to see the home nations do better. It can get a bit boring without another nation to look out for at a big tournament.

Markpro, you know as well as i do that the Scottish, Irish and Welsh love it when England get beat. Nothing wrong with that as long is people dont get to personal.

The oldest international football fixture is Scotland V England, England V Scotland. It's the oldest rivalry. That's the reason for us not wanting England to do well. It's rivalry and banter. Not racism as the Daily Mail has been suggesting all week long. Daily Mail so what do you expect.

The UK exists as a political union not as a country. I presume most English will be wishing close neighbours France success now?

Did supporters of Spurs want Arsenal to win the Champions League? Does the majority of England want Chelsea or Man Utd to win the Champions League when these respective clubs are representing England?

I live in Edinburgh and the population here is 18% English. There are no problems and no difficulties for anyone English living in Edinburgh. Okay, you'll get the odd arsehole but you'll get that anywhere.

For a nation of a population less than London i think qualification to the World Cup in 1974, 1978, 1982, 1986, 1990, 1998, in other words six out nine is not too bad.

For the record England with Ten times the population have qualified.. six out of nine as well..

They do have a god record in qualifying but the word 'qualifying is key here. Kenny, would you care to share with us how many games Scotland have won at the World Cup?

Scotland had some amazing players in the 70's and 80's though. Nearly every English club had a good solid Scottish player. Whats happened?
