And let's not forget that Minimal is being released on 24 July. If there is a third single, it won't be released until September/October at the earliest.

I find the idea that Numb might be chosen because it was used on Match Of The Day a little, erm, bizarre.
Prick up your ears.

I think Numb has always been considered for single release at some point so I doubt it's use on Matxh of The Day will have helped to determine anything.

Interesting. Well spotted Native. I wonder how many sales you would need to get into the top 100.

I wonder what Neil & Chris's reaction to the song being used in this way is. Presumably they would have had to give their permission, is that correct?

Not sure about sales. I believe you have to sell more single tracks then albums, as most people just hand-pick tracks instead of buying whole albums.
Fundamental has gone back up to number 71 on iTunes as well.

After playing this at the Liverpool show I think it's almost certain that this will be the 3rd single from "Fundamental".

You don't need many sales to get into the itunes top 100. Probably around 20 will get you to number 100. To get to number 100 in the 'proper' top 100 last week, you only need to sell around 500 -600 copies!

You don't need to get permission to use Numb in the context the BBC did. They will simply pay the royalty fees. Im sure Neil and especially Chris will be chuffed at its exposure.

You only need permission when you want to use it to advertise a product etc.
And you say you never believed in luck

Currently at 96 on iTunes - not that great when you consider oldies like Living On A Prayer and ELO's My Blue Sky are higher (maybe the latter due to Dr Who).

Ironically there is also a Numb at 85 (by Linkin Park) and right above it is Aerosmith.

My other half was blubbing during the 'Numb' compilation.
In today's Metro, Stevie Gerrard was saying how he just feels "numb" :!:

that Diane Warren man.. .she can really churn them out. :P

this is great advertising though, for PSB and the song. and neil sings it so beautifully. I think they should replace Minimal with Numb. ;)

No you are not alone, quite a number of fans want it as a single. I love the track.

No, I honestly think it has the potential to be their biggest hit since 'go west'
