No CD for new tracks?

I ignored the cd singles and just bought the DVD. Seems i'm not the only one. PSB sell records primarily to their fanbase, so why put out a cd containing an edited version of Minimal and an edited version of the worst track on Fundamentalism? Or did they think the single-buying public would be eager to get their hands on a dodgy trance track with an Elton John vocal? It makes no sense!

EDIT: Plus one of the bonus tracks on the DVD is an edit of a track from Battleship Potemkin! Three discs and one track worth a damn to the fanbase (Blue on blue). They're not even trying any more!

Unfortunately they don't. If you want to release two cd-singles, one of them must be a 2-track and another a maxi-cd . You can't release 2 cd-singles or 2 cd-maxis.

Pity. Well, in that case they should have put their new B-side on cd1, obviously.

No it isn't, really. Context context!

I think I have a relatively good AUDIO system. On the other hand, the DVD player I got with no intention to have a superb audio experience. So playback quality of a DVD audio track *may not* be (maybe it would, but it's also about some principles) as good as when listening to CD audio track played on a proper system. If they release audio-only tracks on CD, no problem here.

I can, but then again you need any AUDIO player to enjoy SONGS. Of course I see nothing strange about having a CD player or a record-player to listen to music. And yes, there's quality and quality. But why should anyone need a VIDEO player to listen to AUDIO only tracks (I don't mean videoclips or concerts), or advanced VP to enjoy them in the same quality as with CDP they already have? I can't help finding this a bit strange. Or am I the only DVD-backward here, and adaptation is the only option?

Suppose for arguements sake, they had to release Minimal with those 3 bonus tracks (IP, BOB and NTFT)

They should have done this..

Relegate the U-Myx and the MFactor/Tiga Dubs to download only, or could the U-Myx gone on the DVD?

I get confused but here's the chart rules...

Singles
a) “2 Track” CD Compact Disc Minimum 1.20 10 minutes and no more than two audio tracks. No multimedia content.
b) “Maxi” CD/DVD Compact Disc/DVD Minimum 1.79 20 minutes and no more than three tracks plus remixes of those tracks.
c) 7-inch Vinyl up to 7" Minimum 0.50 20 minutes and no more than three tracks.
d) 12-inch Vinyl over 7" Minimum 1.99 20 minutes and no more than three tracks plus remixes of those tracks.
e) Cassette Tape Minimum 1.20 20 minutes and no more than three tracks.
OR
Remix Single: One title and any number of remixes to a maximum of 40 minutes
Applies to any of the above formats with the exception of “2 Track” CD singles as
defined in Section 1a.
f) Multimedia CDs/DVDs All other Chart eligibility rules apply.
Disc must play on all standard audio CD/DVD equipment. Multimedia element must
be directly related to the artist in question and not previously available for
purchase in its entirety as a separate product.

EDIT: I get it now, If they release a 2track CD, then they can only release a 20 min Maxi as well.

Otherwise they can issue a 1CD maxi up to 40 mins etc..

CDS - 2 tracks - 10 mins

CDM - whatever - 40 mins - only mixes

CDM - whatever (usually 3) - 20 mins - b-sides

But Im looking at the rules effective from 06.10.2005. Say Hello was released way before then.

Maxi CDs can be a maximum of 20 minutes if a 2 track CD is also released. A big fat boo to the big bad BPI!
