Very true - the new "Moderator" is a good example of the new times. I didn't even get an answer when asking in a thread who it was. I know many of us did contribute money - not to mention time and energy on preserving the forum at Aimoo, and quite frankly it is lack of respect for us that nobody really takes part in a dialogue with the users on how the forum should be run. Instead of blaming the people who no longer post, why not look at it as a symptom that something must be quite wrong when people go from being willing to voluntarily donate money to not even wanting to post here.Native wrote:It's sad that some folk have chosen to leave, but that is really a bit of a cop-out. The 'Moderators' (who ever they are these days?) know how people feel. I'm almost on the side of the people who post utter nonsense when you get a Moderator who doesn't even introduce him/herself and instead just moves threads about. StevePSB appears every now and again, tells a few people off then goes back to whatever keeps him from moderating. Dave PSB is STILL listed as a moderator- Why? YFU did a grand job for a long period and it's sad he no longer really takes part, but maybe he should tell people why?
What I would like to see is a moderator who we all respect (Gardner and YFU are the names that spring to mind) step in and lay down some ground rules for the forum - these then would be open for discussion of course. One of the obvious rules to introduce would be that it is not acceptable if a few members transform most threads into a personal conversation completely unrelated to the original topic.
