Agree with most of the comments here. Boy Harsher really brought NLB alive for me, never been able to get into the original version and I still find the rap bit a bit cringy. Absolutely should have been the radio mix.

ATYD isn't the finest cover they've ever done but at least the studio version is an improvement to that live version, kinda glad they recorded it just for that! Richard X made it loads better though.

Beauty... need a few more listens but I can see that becoming a fav soon

As far as I'm concerned ATYD Delinquent version is the main mix of this cover. Richard X Edit is fine for radio I guess but the instrumental intro of the Richard X longest mix is where it shines. Overall not one of their finest covers anyway.

NLB Boy Harsher remix is cute, retro yet contemporary, certainly the highlight of this package.

Beauty sounds like a demo for Yes, it has that soundscape. If it's a demo for Nonetheless I wonder how it would sound with James Ford additional treatment.

Beauty is just superb. I assume it's about the arrival of Arte Nouveau in Paris in 1890 but they may be referencing New Romanticism in London too.

I think the rose garden reference is about a particular London cruising spot where (so I hear) there are men to be seen admiring nature in the moonlight!

The radio edits have tightened up the sound of NLB and ATYD but the Delinquent mix of ATYD and Boy Harsher mix of NLB have really cracked these songs wide open for me, in the same way that the Floorplan version of Loneliness and Solomun extended version of Dancing Star did.

Beauty... is quite the sprawling epic. I'm detecting hints of the new Heart remix from Furthermore, plus some passages from their remix of Paul Weller's Cosmic Fringes, and those are good things. Gotta love a song that rhymes "tuppence" and " come-uppance".

Absolutely. Even if I love how delicate the original is, the Boy Harsher version is for me the definitive mix. I suppose those who were underwhelmed by Nonetheless's electronics are happy now. I know I am, and I wasn't underwhelmed!

Those are NEW songs because f i in 1985 PSB released: West End girls, In the Night, Opportunities, A man could be arrested. So the actual number of released songs could be much higher for certain years.

So we think ATYD (Delinquent version) counts as a "proper" b-side?

I do as it’s a distinctly different recording of the song rather than simply another remix, similar to the Deutsche demo of the “Schlagerhitparade” on the “Feel” single. I strongly suspect the Delinquent version was PSB’s first recording of the song before Anne Dudley and the BBC Orchestra, and then James Ford got involved.

Listening to the Richard X mixes, it’s sounds as if he used elements of both the Ford and Delinquent versions to create his mixes.
