I think Neil also told that story to Vernon during Piano Room Month. It popped up on Facebook again recently.

Also, yes, Chris, the weather in Preston was indeed miserable....

There are plenty of "euphoric" tracks that don't grab me, so I agree it's a bit of a pointless debate. I wouldn't call Nonetheless a euphoric album, but I also disagree it's bland. I think it's solidly in the upper half of the rankings, which is pretty incredible for a group at this stage in their career.
