Some years ago, I thought that an HD release should be in order, as it was the mainstream at the time with lots of albuns, of several singers and bands, being sold as HD audio. But these records had been HD recorded originally.

Do the Pet Shop Boys records been HD record (min. 96kHz, 24 bit)?
The vocals and non-digital/electronic instruments, I do believe so. And the digital/electronic parts, specially in the first 3/4 albums, were they HD recorded?
0 + 0 = 0
1 + 1 = 10

Spotify lossless has really made a difference, worth using the extra gigabytes.

obviously no clue about new order..

substance compilation deluxe came out nov 2023... 2 years ago..

brotherhood album deluxe came out nov 2024 .. 1 year ago..

so yeah, right, barely been awhile..not...

they hardly release anything anymore, no new music, and have only been doing a boxset
every one or two years.. last new album was 10 years ago...

pet shop boys pump out stuff practically every month..

Yeah, I imagine the complaint is that the New Order schedule is free of new music, and just a slow turn of recycling.

Anyway, I'm not keen on going back to the classic albums... what I'd like to see is PSB working with Steven Wilson as a producer on a new album (with David Kosten ideally), and then having a multichannel versions of that album on a blu-ray. Huge bonus points if it comes with something to look at while you listen. Whenever I listen to his album The Future Bites, I find it very easy to imagine the sound of a PSB album being looked after by him.
