I do my own music too... I'd say most of my output falls in the deep/chill/tech/tribal house boundaries but now and then a synthpop track slips out the bag Alas, not having anyone to sing them, those just get kept in the vault for the time being.
I use Logic on a Powerbook 17", plus a Yamaha01x and a selection of synths and samplers that I control via a Roland A50. I won't bore you with the details unless anyone's interested.

Oh good, someone who uses Logic AND has a PB 17". I have Logic Gold myself but it's an older version I bought a couple years back. Back a few months ago I bought the new 17" PowerBook but Logic only runs in classic on this so the timing on it stutters. I need to upgrade. When I transfered everything over I haven't been able to use the audio functions for some. How hard is the system X version to figure out?
Yes... I make my own music... using keyboards and number of different programs. Here's one of my recent remixes/"compositions"/creations (whatever you want to call it, since the actual "remixing" is almost non-existent... as it's not based on cut-and-paste digital editing).

I'm using Logic Pro 6.42 - which I upgraded from Gold... for $225! It's a real good deal as you get all the plugins that were separate purchases from Emagic/Apple before... As for OSX, I'm on 10.3.4 and it's rock solid, I don't miss OS9 one bit, in fact - I quit the Mac scene for a bit because of how nasty OS9 on my previous G4.
I try to produce my own remixes of songs (mainly Madonna and Pet Shop Boys), but I take it as a hobby, nothing serious. I use a very simple program, "Music Maker 2004".
I also made the sound track for a short film of a friend of mine. Nothing remarkable.

Yes - no problem at all... The only thing about X is that not all plugins are readily available as AudioUnits, but there's a very cheap and effective program to convert OS X VST plugins to AudioUnit plugins. Of course, there's a bunch of old OS 9 plugins that will never see the light under X.
I never got around to doing anything with plug-ins. I have to admit, I barely used Logic to it's full potential. I didn't know how to use plugins and had a bitch of a time just trying to get the MIDI hook-ups working properly and trying to understand all that stuff.

Well, there's a nice book by PeachPit Press on Logic Pro... you can go very, very far these days just with the included FX and instrument plugins (you do get ES1,ES2, EXS24, EVOC20, Space Designer, EVD6, EVP88 and EVB3 throwi in after all...).

Pretty nice Zog... sounds like how PvD would remix TSA after spending two weeks chilling on an Ibiza beach.

I make music and sing also myself. I made some of my nown remixes such as a barry manilow style version of home and dry and my lounge lizard version of for your own good with me singing and my music and a weird trance hip hop version of to step aside.
Alas, not having anyone to sing them, those just get kept in the vault for the time being.
