Will they ever win another Brit award?

#1 Post by Kiran »

Do you think this will ever happen? Could we see a best album, single or group?
I rule. You don't.

Yeah, they deserve a lifetime achievement award. Bored of it always going to old rockers...

Didn't they turn down the Outstanding Contribution award either last year or the year before? I seem to remember them saying in an interview that they'd been offered the award but refused it due to there being too many "conditions" attatched to accepting it?

I agree they will probably get an award for their whole career, but not yet while they're still going strong. I think they're thought of as electropop legends but their current work doesn't attract enough attention to be Brit material.

Life achievement is the only one they can win... If they only wanted to recieve one... :?
Interviewer:
-What would you tell someone about yourself if you wanted to impress them?

Chris:
-I´ve got a 12-inch plonker.

Unfortunately I don't think any album they put out from now on will earn them a nomination let alone win an award which is disapointing by a sad reflection of society.

My Dad asked me when I thought the Pets would win another Brit during the show last week.

My response?

A rather dismissive "Gawd knows".

The Brits are nothing more than an excuse to boost post-Christmas record sales. It's designed for those people who buy half a dozen cds a year and might not have noticed that a certain James Blunt has a song called You're beautiful or that Kaiser Chiefs are fat and dull.

I pray that PSB never accept an outstanding achievement Brit because then I will have to endure Elton's laudatory speech before a show-closing medley of West End Girls, It's a sin and Go West with Neil totally out of tune and the soulless audience tapping their toes as he slaps his thigh triumphantly.
