I know yesterday (13th March) was the first time a new PSB track had been played in ages, but (as per the long standing forum rules) in future all public requests for copies of any new track, PSB or otherwise, will be deleted and/or threads containing requests closed. We will officially...

Thank you for the link leesmapman. I was already aware of them and found the last one does not include the first song they played (the Blur song Girls and Boys (PSB Remix)). For some reason it has been omitted from the youtube recording hence why I asked if anyone has their own recording.
I just watched an interview with four of the original five MTV (US) VJ's on Howard Stern. One of them (Nina Blackwood, IIRC) bemoaned the fact that MTV (US) no longer plays music videos. I've long thought that YouTube has made music video channels like MTV obsolete because you can watch, with some...

These days MTV is really only for aspiring porn stars to get their first break.
I've just noticed that the CW channel here in the U.S. has slated for their new fall season a relaunch (second relaunch, actually) of the classic British kids show The Tomorrow People. I remember the first time I saw this show back in '81 when my family got cable and Nickelodeon was the channel to...
Out in April a deluxe version of the first Electronic's album, here all the infos:

I really want this reissue but the price I've seen here in the U.S. ($37) seems a bit ridiculous. I think I'll wait until I see it for a lower price.
My copy was $21 delivered from Amazon UK.
A 25-year old student called Cody Wilson has just designed and fired the world's first home-made gun built on a 3D printer. More here and here .
I can't help but wonder if Cody is about to become the household name of the next decade or so. There's a good chance that his little innovation changes...

Oh, I'm with you now. You can actually 3D print metal too, although admittedly not with the "low-end" printers. Gunpowder may be trickier...
Deserves it's own thread I think,

A true legend, I wonder what will happen to United when he's gone?
Can they continue their success? I'm not sure.
I'd love Mark Hughes to take over but don't think it will happen.
Jose Mourinho possibly?
If you take a 320kbps MP3 file and you have to edit it, when you save it back out as 320kbps does it get re-compressed (and therefore take a drop in quality) or because it is already at 320 will it not compress further and stay at the same quality?
It's puzzled me (theoretically) for a while, but...

Depending on the complexity of the edit, mp3trim pro might be useful to you, as it can chop up mp3 files without re-encoding. I use it occasionally for fading out remixes that outstay their welcome (which can be faded out quite effectively with the software) and for separating hidden tracks. It...
You all will know that the queen of the Netherlands is Beatrix. Tomorrow her son, Willem Alexander will become our king.
And this is the song we will all sing tomorrow!
What do you think of it?

The queen`s balcony is adorned with oranges - besides the usual flowers, how nice :-)
The crowds look nice as well!
This is a silly game that we play on another board I frequent. The rules are simple:
Find 10 songs with titles relating to a certain subject or idea.
Only post one song at a time.
The person who posts the 10th song sets the next subject.
I enjoy it. Don't know if anyone here will, but let's...
would pet shop Boys sound the same without pete gleadall?
Last post
I would say that, when they worked together, Pete Gleadall was immensely responsible for how great-sounding those songs came out.
PSB songs tend toward the layered and intricate, musically. Someone has to do all that programming and layering and sequencing, and making it perfect, and for years...
I was wondering when a band/singer covers a song how much do they get and how much do the original writers get? E.g. covers that were huge hits, like Tainted Love and Always on my mind, who gets what? Also, how does it work if an original song has a sample(s)? A song like Theme from S'Express has over a dozen...
I have my own forum setup since 2006, had a spat with the former web host and then had to restart it from scratch in 2008, anyway, a lot of people tell me that people don't get on forums anymore because they are all on Facebook and twitter. What do you all think of that?
I mean I don't think that...

There's another factor: control. One of the things that absolutely shirks me about FakeBook is not having nearly as much control (as an admin) over what happens on the page. For example, if a conversation goes totally off the rails, you have little choice except to delete it entirely. You can't...
You don't need to be on Radio 1 to be Number One. "A boy band", "two teenagers" get the Official Number One in UK:
PJ and Duncan or Ant and Dec?
The song never was Number One and now it was, 17 years later.

You don't need to be on Radio 1 to be Number One.
You don't. Mass-market, lowest common denominator, pain-anaesthetizing, brain-optional TV will do instead.
Can anyone recommend any similiar albums to Very's upbeat #1 sound, or even any albums that are close to perfect for a band in their prime? Ones that come to top of mind for me:
Electronic's 1st album
Texas - White on Blonde
Justice - Cross
Juliana Hatfield - How to Walk Away
Green Day - American...
I immediately thought it was Farrow, with the use of the white square covering the image like Elysium, but quickly realised he wouldn't shop his idea that blatantly. An interesting read and like Elysium, provocative design.

Well, nothing special but during swedish qualifications to eurovision song contest I had a twitter conversation with former eurovision winner Richard Herrey (1984 Herreys) who said it was better pop before. I tweeted that I love PSB.
His next tweet - "They are great"

I remember Diggi-Loo Diggi-Ley very well. They were like the Big Fun of their day.
Well, I like DM. I love a lot of their singles, but I haven't really listened to any of their albums (aside from Sounds of the Universe, but the only song I like is Wrong...). To be honest, I like their recent stuff a lot more. I think I could start with Violator or Ultra, what do you think? I also...

Two DM videos that also spring to mind are ''Strange'' and ''Strange Too'' which haven't come out on DVD as far as I know. Both are excellent examples of their respective albums (Music for the masses and Violator) where music videos of the album tracks are both odd and just brilliant.
Following on from my Live DJ Mix of chilled out and reflective tracks by the Pet Shop Boys I have done another mix which features The Human League. The mix features some of their classic 12 inch singles as well as rare remixes.
You can hear the mix via the link below:
I will be doing another Live...

come on mate, that's not a mix....u can hear the joins....
Not sure what your point is, however, it is a collection of tracks linked together as a mix ....simples.
Nice to see Charlie Brooker has been given his balls back on BBC2 this evening on his Weekly Wipe. :D

I turned over the moment he had the guy off Pointless and that unfunny dyke on. He's just gone far too showbiz for me I'm afraid, plus it's like he's got Konnie's arm up his arse operating him when he's always banging on about women and drones in Pakistan. We get it. You're a feminist now and...
can anybody here confirm the version of I Told You So on lost sirens
Its different than the one on Waiting for the Sirens Call. I got it on iTunes and it didn't have a mix label
i have seen it listed as
I Told You So (Crazy World Mix) 5:09
its sounds just like the 12x12 version

It's the same as the 12 x 12 version. Rather than a different mix, it's actually a different production to the WFTSC version. That version was produced by Jim Spencer, this one by Stuart Price. The bonus track on the US WFTSC is the same scenario, a different production of "Guilt is a Useless...
When you see how an industry giant like HMV has effectively collapsed due to changes in listening preferences, it's a wonder than Neil and Chris are the survivors they are.

Anyway, she directed the truly terrible video in 1987. Always liked the song when it was new, it took me years to see the video, and oh god, did I not miss anything. I guess a lot of people are familiar with it, NO pretending to be a heavy metal band ha ha ha. Ugh. It's one long boring joke, I...

I always liked the video. A simple send-up of USA "Hair-metal". And US heavy metal bands STILL look like that nearly 30 years later!
