In the last days I recognise some emails about Tickets for PSB@ROH which I THINK could be a money trap. After we have to hold this email open for user requests and alerts via the contact link (at the...
I know yesterday (13th March) was the first time a new PSB track had been played in ages, but (as per the long standing forum rules) in future all public requests for copies of any new track, PSB or otherwise, will be deleted and/or threads containing requests closed. We will officially...

Thank you for the link leesmapman. I was already aware of them and found the last one does not include the first song they played (the Blur song Girls and Boys (PSB Remix)). For some reason it has been omitted from the youtube recording hence why I asked if anyone has their own recording.
Putin's welcoming the Uk also, I suppose, to this event. Tolerance and freedom of speech put to a test with other words The high masters of innuendo and double entendre language Neil and Chris, what if they wrote the song?
Lately I've had the chance of buying a pretty rare promo Pet shop boys cdr and I'm having some doubts since...
Is there a way to be 100% sure it's not just a burned copy? Since you know, cdrs promo editions are not that visually striking.

I've stopped collecting CD-Rs altogether. I do have one or two from 2000, which amazingly still work, but I don't bother anymore. They could be fake anyway. There was a whole bunch of Brick England CD-R promos on discogs, ebay, ect., I really don't trust it.
This was about 10.50 today after Popmaster on Greatest Hits Radio.
I think sparked BT two thinks, Ken had been chatting to a Popmaster contestant who kept mentioning that he was at Monkey World. Ken's PSB mention was after a play of "Heart" with its false ending which of course didn't catch him out.
I couldn't sleep the other night so I decided to flick through Catalogue again. It's a mammoth achievement and I wondered how on earth they could expand on its already impressive 336 pages without it being impracticable not to say dangerous. It covers twenty years and it's likely the expanded...

Amazon Germany has set the release date for March 26th 2026 which would be exactly 40 years and 2 days after the release of our boys‘ debut „Please“. Could this be the start of some anniversary events or releases (special one-off anniversary show, „Please“ collector box, something new from „Since...
Was it worth it is one of my favorourite songs, but a lot of fans and the PSB themselves don't seem to hold in high regard.
I think it's strange they released only one cd-single / 12" at the time. Maybe this hurt Was it worth it's chart position. All singles from Behaviour and DJ Culture already...

Ot just occured to me that the chorus of the song has the same bassline als Black Box' 1989 hit Right on Time. You can hear it right at the start of the song.
This is also mentioned in the Further Listening booklet. ;)
Do we think this is going to end up like the Amazon exclusive clear vinyl Nonetheless, which was £32 when it came out but was eventually available for under £15?
Singles:
#64 West End Girls
#52 What have I done to deserve this?
#45 Suburbia

#33 Left to my own Devices

I wouldn’t be seen dead with Spotify. Real music fans don’t touch it with a barge pole.
I believe this thread is about chart positions for PSB. Why revive a thread from months ago just to post opinions on something completely unrelated.

I have always considered that the Pet Shop Boys make music to move the skeleton (ballads aside), but I don't know if they can be considered "pure danceable".
If you had to include a PSB song in a list of the most danceable songs in history or at a dance music party, which one would you include?
So there is that Soft Cell interview in Electronic Sound magazine (issue 86, march? 2022) with minor PSB references here and there, and announces 'Happiness Not Included' upcoming album is due for release by BMG in the spring, along with a new version of 'Purple Zone' by Soft Cell and PSB. (p.43)...

You guys will like this.
Unofficial music video, take a look.
The art style reminds me of Back To Mine.
I just loved this video!!! Rolling over and over again.
Yup, me too. Absolutely brilliant job. A lot of Blackpool pride in there too.
Hamish Hawk has released an excellent cover of So hard. Well worth checking out. ( I first discovered his music when Neil recommended one of his song on instagram some two or three years ago.)

Sorry but I like this. If you're going to do a cover then "make it your own". Turning this into a 3/4 waltz, stripped down with piano and vocal makes it almost "original'. I'm sure Elvis fans hated Always On My Mind when they heard it because it's so far removed from the original. A 3/4 waltz...
We have today received the sad news that Jack Bond, the director of our feature film, “It Couldn’t Happen Here” and the videos for “Always on my mind” and “Heart”, died yesterday. Jack had a distinguished career making both feature films and documentaries. He supervised the Blu-ray re-release of...

An interesting - and long overdue - article on the rich career of Jack Bond, and his late creative partner Jane Arden, in Britain's Guardian newspaper today:
This track probably deserves its own topic. Another hidden gem like so many in the career of those lovely Pet Shop Boys
Lowe on vocoderized vocals + classic dark dance music + a huge CYA remix; what have done to deserve the Pet Shop Boys ?
Pure bliss.

This used to be the future, We're the pet shop boys, We all feel better in the dark, One of the crowd and of course Paninaro and Paninaro 95. Neil always finds a way to sneak in, the bastard.

Hello everyone, I have a question for the collectors here on this forum regarding the Bootleg release of the Performance Tour at 7th june 1991, which, it seems that it has a live recording of Being Boring. I would like to know if, there is, actually, a live recording of Being Boring in the record,...

Hello! So, I own this bootleg on vinyl. Can confirm on this recording, that after the acoustic intro to Always on My Mind, Being Boring starts (the 'full' Always comes in after). In terms of performance, the backing vocals sound like its only during the chorus part.
In terms of quality, i would say...
Last night in my dream I met Neil. We had a nice chat and I remember I told him to write something for me on a sheet of paper and he wrote: "book book book".
What does this mean? :D
PS: Neil left a bit later and I was upset that I forgot to take a picture with him :)
I don't usually dream Neil...

I woke up from dreaming this morning, in the wake of Chuck Mangione's death, that Pet Shop Boys had, years ago, incongruously and most unexpectedly made a remix of Mangione's signature hit, "Feels so good". They pulled it out of the archives to mark his passing. I'm afraid it was only an...
I just found this rather good cover version of It's a Sin by Belgian singer Liliane St. Pierre (sung in Dutch).

I'm going to sound like a Points Of View letter writer (it's an old UK TV show for those who don't know)

75% of the PSB cannon is LGBTQ+. West End girls doesn't belong to it.

Pet Shop Boys today release a new dance mix of “Hymn (In memoriam Alexei Navalny)”, a song dedicated to his memory and cause, which was originally released in February 2025.

I was at "Hot" bar in Madrid on Pride week and the Dj played it. It sounded quite peculiar in such scenario. Of course I went up to the Dj and congratulated him. He told me he didn't think anyone would know it was them.
I've tried to solve this riddle for some years now but I've quite not succeeded yet.

Happy for you Daveid.
I wonder which song it was that caused all this confusion and fuss.
I think that they have so many underrated songs to choose from the three which comes to my mind immediately are I'm Not Scared, You only tell me you love me when're drunk and The Sodom and Gomorrah show. All three songs are really really good and one of the best less known by them.

There were some nice U-Myx songs for many artists at that time. Just a few months ago I was on a quest to compile many of them to play mixing the stems. Most of them still work fine on their corresponding U-myx software on moden computers, but sadly MINIMAL plays with interruptions, like if it were...

In Japan, next June, 11 PSB albums will be reissued for the special "Forever Young 2025" series.

Does anyone know what this remix is? I’ve not heard it before as it’s a bit different to the original Bobby O version 7” and 12”. It’s released by ZYX so I’m assuming it’s one of those dodgy unofficial remixes, ala Hurricane Mixes??

I love him as a guilty pleasure.
But those PSB covers (... of covers, Go West / Always on my Mind) are awful.
Usually even video clips will have the names of the actors in a video somewhere.....like on IMDB
But I could not find the name of the actor who plays the NYC boy in the PSB NYC Boy video.
I thought...this guy probably has a nice little acting career and I wanted to see what else he has done......

Oh my, the full documentary is 1 and a half hour, the Arte edit is half that time.
Probably the same version of it that was shown on Irish tv a few weeks ago, that was an hour including ad breaks.
I think I'm in love... this has been on repeat all afternoon. Yes, it's slight, inconsequential, b-side material. But dear God, is it an off-kilter, highly unusual earworm crying out for a much longer remix.

But, yeah, it's easy imagining her intoning the words, isn't it? Like a daffy incantation.

Does anyone know if they can still be found?

Yeah, I remember Victorin’s videos – they were truly something special. Sadly, most of his uploads seem to have vanished over the years. I think some were taken down due to copyright, and others just got lost when old accounts disappeared. Maybe someone here saved a few offline?
