Please take extreme care on emails from administration @ petshopboys-forum .com !!!!!!!!!!!
In the last days I recognise some emails about Tickets for PSB@ROH which I THINK could be a money trap. After we have to hold this email open for user requests and alerts via the contact link (at the...
I know yesterday (13th March) was the first time a new PSB track had been played in ages, but (as per the long standing forum rules) in future all public requests for copies of any new track, PSB or otherwise, will be deleted and/or threads containing requests closed. We will officially...

Thank you for the link leesmapman. I was already aware of them and found the last one does not include the first song they played (the Blur song Girls and Boys (PSB Remix)). For some reason it has been omitted from the youtube recording hence why I asked if anyone has their own recording.
Book: "A Wonderful Life: 50 Eulogies to Lift the Spirit," edited by Cyrus M. Copeland (Algonquin Books of Chapel Hill)
Between the title and the cover -- with a dove soaring into the great beyond -- this book looks to be unbearably maudlin, the kind of...

I checked it out at our local Barnes & Noble, and I noticed that the author/editor consistently misspells Neil's surname as "Tenant" wherever it appears. Very sloppy. Still, it's an interesting book, and it's wonderful that Neil's eulogy for Dusty was chosen for inclusion.
Anyone got info if there will be in the book cd covers ? (singles , albums etc ...) some are amazing , I think
I saw on play.com that it's not expensive to buy the book on the site, but anyone got books from this site ? Is it well packaged, I mean ?
thanxs from your answers :)

I had a really bizarre dream last night... I dreamt I saw and bought a copy of the book in some little corner shop (grocers, not a book shop! :D) and I was really happy because it wasn't released yet! How random!

I have that with CDs sometimes and dissapointed after waking up....
I think Results still sounds fresh today. The overall sound of most of the album is sophisticated and crisp and lush - and somehow timeless (apart from Losing my Mind maybe which is very indicative of where Neil and Chris were at the time - I've always thought of LMM as being a cousin of Always on...
Numb seems likely to be the next single so how about giving the boys some ideas for the video?
I imagine Neil on a hospital trolley. He is being wheeled along corridors and there is a build-up of tension as he makes his way to the operating theatre. Chris plays the anaesthetist.
When Neil goes...

I dont know about any of the other UK concerts, but I went to Thetford and thought the backdrop video for "Dreaming of The Queen" was apt for the track. Maybe something similar, Hmmm maybe not, LOL
Personally, I'd go for the newspaper pages idea from a few posts ago but including N&C on some of...

I love it!!! So-Lowe!!! :D
They're splitting up, it'll be a Lowe Solo album next :o
And the perfect title for such an album would be "So-lowe" :D
I woke up yesterday with 'Friendly Fire' buzzing around my head and had already made plans to go along to the Radio 2 recording in London even though I didn't have a ticket. A fan from Newcastle had a spare ticket.....so I got in to see the show!!! It was the BEST!!! I was sitting in the middle of...

have gone into production 8) according to somebody on the PJ forums. I know that some of you will probably say that's not a reliable source but I did get the Minimal artwork off there before anybody else posted it on here
Also, the person who posted about the promos had a fantastic idea...

I actually dig that video idea. Reminds me a bit of Eurythmics "17 Again", that was an incredible video in my opinion.

I really like the remix of Young Offender played live during the Nightlife Tour. But the intro of Yesterday, when I was mad remix is great much better that the original. I am very sad for what is happened to Spoon.

BADLY DRAWN BOY "NOTHING'S GOING TO CHANGE YOUR MIND"
Not sure if this has been mentioned before. Just heard a cover version of 'Love comes quickly' by a band called 'Memphis'. It's absolutely gorgeous. Has anyone else heard it?
Apology if this has already been discussed, well actually I'm sure it has, but I missed it. Does anyone have it to burn onto CD by any chance.
How diiferent are these versions to Disco 3?
I would also massively recommend John Peel's autobiography, it's hilarious.

"Try it" is virtually identical. "If looks could kill" is radically different, more '80s-sounding. "A powerful friend" is also very '80s. Don't remember what the session version of "London" was like -- didn't bother getting an MP3 of that one -- but I seem to recall it wasn't much different from...
I have to say I'm a little concerned over Minimal. Not because it "only" managed to get to 19, but the fact that places like Woolworths just didn't stock it.
I normally buy the PSBs singles from Woolworths and it just didn't appear in their chart at all, which means you couldn't buy it. What this...

who killed Minimal? honestly speaking, the radio edit did it, IMO. compared to the original and a couple of the remixes, it was awful.
WOW. It was amazing!!
PSB called the concert in Leuven as the most beautiful place they ever played.
It was on the old market place surrounded with very old buildings.
Minimal went over in shopping, unbelievable beautiful!!

Ehm.. they ever played THIS YEAR he said. Since June.
I seem to recall they covered that Always on my Mind thing and it got them the Christmas number one of 1987. And the U2 cover of 1991 didn't too badly either. More tellingly, it was Go West that acted as the catapault for Very's UK number one position. I'm not sure that album would have so...

People forgot It's Allright and We're The Pet Shop Boys (although they are entitled to play it!)
Minimal sold 9336 copies last week. 15% were digital downloads. It needed to sell 3300 more copies to get into the top ten. 2490 of those sales were the DVD.
Number One sold 29109 copies. Madonna sold 17,922 copies.
Fundamental is 176, having sold 1070 copies, a 2% increase on the week before....

I'm still curious to find out how Minimal performed in the physical sales chart. I'm With Stupid made #5 in that chart.
It made #9. Down to #28 this week.
That's actually a surprisingly good result! Thanks for the information!
I am looking for a copy of this CD and I haven't been able to find it this far in London. I have tried Virgin and HMV in Oxford street but no luck this far.
Does anybody know a shop where there are still copies left?
Cheers!

:!: The Minimal remixers didn't work in a good way. So I hope that who'll remix Numb make a better work. For me the German duo Blank & Jones, Trouser Enthusiasts but Rauhofer too could make a good work for Numb. Unfortunately, Spoon is dead, he with Jam made the best remixes of PSB: Young Offender...

1/3rd of the way through and I've made up my mind...
it's f'ing fantastic... good luck with it.
You just need access to the real tracks to clean it up.
Did anyone go to the show? If so what was it like and idea if it'll be released on DVD?
cheers

Hearing all those songs played by a 72 piece orchestra was a privilege ! Buy the cd when it comes out!
There is no reason why the couldn't repeat the whole thing. A week at the Royal Albert Hall with an orchestra is achievable and would finance itself, providing there enough fans to fill the...
Ok, its a little off topic, but think all lovers of Italo disco (Chris Lowe?) will want to hear this, you can stream, it from
You won't leave the house again. Immaculate stuff.

I agree with you both. Italo Disco could be the ultimate music form, but very rarely is, sadly. These tracks often go wrong when the singing starts IMO...that's why I am so fond of Koto, I guess.
2 things I've noticed playing these songs a lot lately.
Listening to GDC I get the feeling that there is a second part of the first verse removed. After "It's the final day" the chorus begins and at that point it doesn't sound right. So I feel there is a part removed or the chorus is placed there...

at that point it doesn't sound right.
There's no right or wrong in songwriting. It may sound unfamiliar. I noticed it in the beginning too, but thought that it fits.
Did anyone noticed the cowbells in the M-factor sound very simulair to the one from Always on my mind?
Yes, the sound is similar....
just received a copy of "About" which I ordered from the official site. Absolutely great mix of in-depth interviews, rare demo excerpts and snippets of what they were up to in 1996.
However, I'm quite irritated that throughout the whole disc you can hear a crackle every now and then :( - as...

The high noise on the About CD is most probably from the DAT recording in the Radio 1's studio. These kind of digital noise is usual on DAT tapes, unfortunately they didn't take time to clean the final recording before they've burnt onto master copy.
Has anyone got any inside info on this. I've just ordered mine from Amazon (19 quid) but there isnt a great deal about it. Is it all pictures? Or is their some description? Thing is, i can't read. Another question, does it go as far as Minimal, or even Numb?

It makes sense for the book to only go upto PopArt. Fundamental is still an ongoing project - there could still be more single sleeves and stage designs for the world tour.
I agree 100%. It is kind of the same as the PopArt DVD isnt it not having the videos to both Miracles and Flamboyant!
My I'm with stupid DVD plays just fine on my PC, however when I pop my Minimal DVD Real Player gives me an error "The DVD cannot be played. Key exchange for DVD copy protection failed." and if I try to play with my Intervideo WinDVD the Video does not play and the sound is with a Bzzzzz!!!

The DVD cannot be played. Key exchange for DVD copy protection failed.
This is the message I get when playing either of the two Fundamental DVD singles. This is discussed further here:
I just watched a TV programme that had Janet Street-Porter as guest (food programme) called 'A taste of my life'. She said her five favourite dinner guests would be : Paul O'Grady, Elton John, Pet Shop boys, and one of her boyfriends. It then showed a few minutes clip of Neil being interviewed...
Last post
Yeah, I saw that a few weeks ago. I was going to post something, but never got round to it. Janet seemed surprised that they got Neil to do a piece to camera like that about her and her food habits.
I just saw on Lorraines website that they have been confirmed as support act for at least the Tower gigs.
That´s great news isn´t it? I just love "I Feel it" and "Italian girlfriend". Generally I don´t like the concept of support acts at all, but for Lorraine I´d be prepared to make an exception....
