Please take extreme care on emails from administration @ petshopboys-forum .com !!!!!!!!!!!
In the last days I recognise some emails about Tickets for PSB@ROH which I THINK could be a money trap. After we have to hold this email open for user requests and alerts via the contact link (at the...
I know yesterday (13th March) was the first time a new PSB track had been played in ages, but (as per the long standing forum rules) in future all public requests for copies of any new track, PSB or otherwise, will be deleted and/or threads containing requests closed. We will officially...

Thank you for the link leesmapman. I was already aware of them and found the last one does not include the first song they played (the Blur song Girls and Boys (PSB Remix)). For some reason it has been omitted from the youtube recording hence why I asked if anyone has their own recording.
soo i´ve been thinking about making like psb products ( handmade & painted by me ( image ) ), but i really don´t know what because i don´t really know what people would want ( ex. i´m going to make myself a cover for my cd because i´m burning one ), sooo i wanted to ask if anyone would actually...

Speaking for myself, I enjoy the official merch when it is substantial and beautiful and stylish (lithos, Catalogue etc) but I can do without (eg) a water bottle with the tour logo on or whatever.
Unofficial merch I would avoid like the plague. Absolute shit. Even if you think you’re creating...

I mean… in general, in the west, what does a young gay man have to protest that’s unique to his sexuality? The 70-90s are where it’s at.
The fact you have to ask this is sad. Times are better for gay people in the UK, but there is still queer bashing and rampant transphobia.
Just looking at album covers and noticed, more often than not, that Chris is on the left and Neil on the right of the photo.
I'm not one that reads too much into things but it seems to be an aesthetic they've mostly stuck with over 40 years.
Purely an observation unless anyone has specific...

Remembered this thread while reading The Pet Shop Boys versus America:
They sit in a back-stage room, surrounded by wigs and stage costumes, preparing to be interviewed by MTV. Neil tries to sit on Chris’s left.
‘I always sit on that side,’ objects Chris.
‘You do?’ says Neil, moving over. ‘I've...
After all these years I'm a bit obsessed about how good could work a musical movie approaching the big catalogue of PSB. I don't see many legendary musicians that could work so much for that. A musical with songs from them. Well, we know It Couldn't Happen Here already exists but I think it should...

The sad truth is that many artists feel they can't take original material submitted by fans because of the risk of being burned by plagiarism lawsuits (the artist releases new material and the fan then sues, claiming that the artist "stole their ideas" from the material they gave the artist). Maybe...
One of Solarstone's side projects - he's a massive fan of the boys, and according to his insta this is one of his favourite PSB records:

I listened to the main version and the dub version. Excellent. I particularly like the occasional chord change that makes it sound a little more positive.
So PSB aren't doing anything now?
Where's the next big release. Where have the promo efforts been.
We had New Bohemia in early June, now 2 months on the only thing we've gotten is UK Dreamworld Tour announcements and gigs.
All of this excitement and now there's practically nothing to look forward...

We haven't got the singles from the 1st 6 albums in the streaming platforms. It would be awesome to see all the old singles available in their discography section in the streaming platforms. <3
Available to listen to now on BBC sounds (UK only I would imagine)
Even though I should imagine it'll be pretty easy to guess the top spots it'll still be interesting to see what the public think are their best songs. And there's already and interesting non single song at number 30!

Pet Shop Boys Imperial Phase Master Mix incoming on Gary Davies' Sounds of the 80s on Radio 2 after the Top 30 countdown earlier.
I've missed ordering first day covers for this issue but it's good to see one of the official DSB stamps using a photograph from the BBC Electric proms and also a mention of Pet Shop Boys in the presentation pack.
Also my workplace the Royal Albert hall gets a mention and two labels in the...

Thanks for this reply!
Yes, some lovely commemorative stamps are produced these days - I agree with you on ''First Class'' for the Pets!
It just occurred to me that they should also grace an international stamp because then you could send them (*ahem*) "All over the world".
Posted this in the 'PSB appearances' thread but just in case anyone misses it, I was listening to Gary Davies' Sounds of the 80s show on BBC Radio 2 this evening and he said there would be an announcement on Vernon Kay's show on Wednesday to tie in with Neil's 70th, for 'Pet Shop Boys fans'....

Hope there will be something 'legendary'.soon. isn't that the working title for the last James Bond campaign? They still keep the photos of Eva Pentel locked away for that. Could be also the film/series.
The Pet Shop Boys film Angela Becker mentioned could be a mockumentary a la Spinal Tap meets...
It poses some interesting questions. How long will it be until people on this forum are sharing their own AI-created "Pet Shop Boys albums" with one another?
On the off chance any other Petheads are as clueless as I was, I thought I'd mention how watching DJ clips on Facebook Reels has helped me understand 1990s PSB remixes for the first time.
I'd aways sort of imagined, for example, that DJ Pierre must have gone to a studio one day and decided to...

Marshall Jefferson's "Being boring" mix stays close to the original. David Morales Behavior-era remixes, which always sounded cool, but a bit like demos to me, seem to involve some re-recording from his team as they remake the tracks to work better in the new context.
London is a great city.It is also connected to the Pet Shop Boys in many ways from Neil & Chris moving down from the North to, Neil & Chris meeting each other for the first time in the Kings Road, both of them living in the Capital & more importantly they have written so many songs reflecting this...

Every time I visit London with friends and we check if we need eastbound or westbound I always say east end boys or west end girls and they all say it now.
Just received my copy of this years Annually and the biggest news (in the quietest way possible) is the reveal that Warners Catalogue Division are going to be digitally releasing every single PSB single with associated B sides and remixes. They may also put them out as a box of CD singles!!

Hi. I've done a remix of one of my favourite PSB tracks. Thanks for listening, hope you enjoy.

This is actually really good. Congrats!!
Nonetheless, the only thing I could critique is that I would lose the vocals after the last build up, around 5:40, you don't need them and they sound overkill. Just let the track go easy after it with just the bass and the drums, and it would also provide a...
You can really tell PSB are back on Parlophone and their bigger promotional budget. Dancing Star is on the latest NOW album in the UK. If memory serves, the last regular NOW album with a PSB track was in 2009 with Love etc.

Winner is “Fart”
I have found that a much more palatable way to view "Winner" is to consider it Neil and Chris' own personal little victory lap in the wake of receiving the 2009 Brit Award.
I know the lyric is meant to apply to an XFactor type situation but, knowing that their lyrics can...

There is a new production of Closer to Heaven, launching at the Turbine Theatre in Battersea, running 31 May - 30 June. This will be the third small theatre production of the show, I really enjoyed the last two!

Never got the hate for this musical or its soundtrack. Saw it twice (the original run and the pre-covid Above the Stag version) and I find it a very entertaining and engaging musical, very funny too, and I love (most of) the songs. The story is a cliché but name one musical that isn't.
I wanted to share this version/remix I made.
You've very kindly given me some nice feedback in the past so hopefully someone or some of you will like it.
Few day ago I had a very crazy idea, and I tried it without any hope... but incredibly... it worked!
Taking the moments from the BBC documentary "Now & Then" when Neil plays the demo cassettes at full speed in fast-forward, and playing those moments at a very very very slow speed... you can...
Hi. I've done a remix of my favourite track from Nonetheless, Why Am I Dancing? It's such a great pop song, beautiful vocals and that main riff is a corker. Here's the link to it. I hope you enjoy it, thanks for listening. WolfZeit.

(100% subjective opinion)
Well. It's a nice try but there's a lot to polish. It seems too simple in the beginning. Even when doing build ups you still need to play it a little bit less minimal. Add a couple of synths or something.
Also vocals synch out every now and then. And also when the bit...

Sounded really good, particularly the strings at the chorus. Made me...

Strings sound amazing. As does the bells melody near the end that I’d hardly noticed in the vocal version. We so need this instrumental.

Thanks for Flamboyant, maybe not for the mixes of In Private

Yeah, his Flamboyant remix was top notch. Great use of samples from previous PSB tracks, if I remember correctly.
You’re thinking of the Michael Mayer remix. Tomcraft produced the original version on PopArt.
After reading several comments by the Pet shop boys themselves, mostly from Annually 2024 but also from interviews, and of course Wayne's input, I've got it quite clear in my mind what The Schlager hit parade represents and means.
But there's still a part puzzling me:
The number of b-sides and alternative tracks from each album-era is usually enough to fill an entire album. So far we have:
1. All the young dudes
2. Through you
3. Party in the Blitz
4. Clean air hybrid electric bus
5. No sense of time
6. If Jesus had a sister
7. It's not a crime
8. I've got...

My "alternative" playlist for Nonetheless only has a few non-album tracks...
Love is the law
New London boy
Feel
Loneliness
Zero Hour
The secret of happiness
If Jesus had a sister
Why am I dancing?
A new bohemia (radio edit)
Dancing star (Solomun remix)
Through you (extended mix)
