In the last days I recognise some emails about Tickets for PSB@ROH which I THINK could be a money trap. After we have to hold this email open for user requests and alerts via the contact link (at the...
I know yesterday (13th March) was the first time a new PSB track had been played in ages, but (as per the long standing forum rules) in future all public requests for copies of any new track, PSB or otherwise, will be deleted and/or threads containing requests closed. We will officially...

Thank you for the link leesmapman. I was already aware of them and found the last one does not include the first song they played (the Blur song Girls and Boys (PSB Remix)). For some reason it has been omitted from the youtube recording hence why I asked if anyone has their own recording.

Talking of Kent, doesn’t Neil live there now? Whitstable I think.
He does, well certainly within reach of the coast.
Sad news. I attended a launch party for the London video years ago at Rocket Gallery and spoke with Martin briefly as well as Neil. I've attended exhibitions of his work since then and an interview, I think at the Southbank Centre.

Oh wow... I never knew it was the photographer Martin Parr?
How did I miss this?
That video was easy money for him 😅. But I like it. RIP
I've been working in Milton Keynes for a few months now ... does anyone know the whereabouts of the staircase Chris designed as an architecture student?
Yeah – sad question, I know, I know ...

I've found the pix of me sitting on the staircase in Rent-style leathers. Will scan soon, they're a scream :?
In my opinion I’m Not Scared (or J’ai Pas Peur) sung by Patsy Kensit — the video and single release — is among PSB’s finest achievements. Confidential is another gem, too bad Tina wasn’t happy with it. Kylie completely butchered Falling, and the demo still awaits proper production to do it justice....

Obviously they could give something as incredible as I'm Not Scared to Patsy because in 1988 they still had songs in reserve they'd written earlier in the decade. I can't see them doing that in 1998.
In fact I think Patsy performing I'm Not Scared on Top of the Pops might be their finest pop...
Considering how great the PSB music is, I am surprised that there is so few officially released (and easily accessible) instrumental versions of their songs.
Even what does exist is hard to get. Yes was only on that vinyl set and Nonetheless was not even officially released at all.
We do have...

On which formats was I get excited (12'' version) (the 5:35 lengthed version) released before it was on Further Listening?
I can't seem to find it anywhere on the different formats of the Heart (7'' or 12'') single.

“Original” Bobby O version is around on various you tube uploads (4.46)
The 7” B Side is on Alternative and the Heart CD single (4.56)
The full length version is on Introspective Further Listening (5.36)
The unreleased 12” mix (6.02) can be found on “aurally 3”.
Maybe this has already been covered elsewhere in this forum — if so, I've missed it and I apologize for asking the question again — but has anyone read or heard, or has anyone figure out, the significance (assuming there is some specific significance) of the sleeve art for Disco 5 ? I've tried to...

Looking at the colors, it's clear that the Dreamworld tour's Love comes quickly backdrop was used.
It is hard to write this, let alone process it, but it is with the greatest sadness that the other half of Soft Cell, the wonderful brilliant musical genius David Ball, died peacefully in his sleep on Tuesday night. As many of you are aware, Dave has been ill for...
PSB have more than 2,200.000.000 streamed songs and 1,183.000. Having in to accound the whole streams (I don't know why some songs appeared twice with more streams, so I suppose I should add these new streams and create a new list and here it is).

Greetings,
How does Spotify handle alternative and remastered versions in its counts?
Even ignoring remixes, some of these songs have been remastered at different times - some have different album and single versions etc.
I contacted the venue earlier in the week to enquire about their disabled / carers and +1 policy. If I was lucky enough to get a ticket then my carer would need to accompany me.

This has nothing to do with pet shop boys , but the venue , like the above have said , give them time it’s probably just one person. Trying to do multiple jobs ,
I think the venue's reply could have been more considerate. Something like:

What a perfect quote! Thanks very much for sharing this. Just finished browsing your most excellent brochure. I would have loved to do this but I'm 5,500 miles away. :(
I've seen some grumbling about the price for Obscure tickets and wonder what people think.
I've not been able to find my ticket prices for Electric, Super or Unity, but my best point of comparison are tix I bought for Peter Hook next year in Toronto at a similar size venue as Electric Ballroom....
Last post
I thought the price was fair, but I think here in Canada we get fleeced on ticket prices sometimes.
Absolutely! I’m not even going to say what I coughed up for the Unity Tour, Madonna & Lady Gaga over the past few years in Toronto. The most “reasonable” (just under $200) price I paid was for Tears...
Looks like both Neil and Chris got butterflies named after them: Liptena chrislowei and Liptena neiltennanti. Also the album Introspective and the song Minimal got a butterfly tribute.

Over the past few months, I've discovered two unofficial remixes that I think are superb. They might already be known to most people, but I thought there might be fans who haven't heard of them, and if they find them as good as I do, it'll be time well spent looking for them

Just seen this on Superdeluxeedition.com - some recent PSB stuff on there. I finally bit on the New Order box sets. Nice to actually have the choice whether to buy stuff or not. Plus, let's face it, Joy Division and New Order>PSB :shhh:

The NO definitive editions are nice for someone like me who hasn't been as much of a completist as I am with PSB, but I've been collecting the re-released 12" along the way too. Arguably NO have cost me more in the past 6 or so years than PSB.
Yeah, they're not ideal as I'd prefer more music...
Carroll Thompson - Let The Music Play has been just added on Pet Shop Boys YouTube channel. The song is described as follows
Carroll Thompson’s ‘Let the Music Play’ was arranged and produced by the Pet Shop Boys in 1991, and later included in the soundtrack for the hit film, ‘The Crying Game’....

Anyone heard if these 2 versions are PSB mixes?
A Let The Music Play (Extended Mix) 10:07
B Let The Music Play (Ambient) 6:32
Probably many of you know that but I didn't know it. Even being a hardcore fan of PSB.
I didn't know Bobby created this song in 1985 for his album: Bobby "O" and his Banana Republic. The song is "Mixed Up World". When you listen to this song you can hear how much it sounds like West End Girls. In...

Plus reissues in the 2020s are a much bigger part of music retail amd often contain all manner of dodgy demos and recordings now to help pad-out big boxsets.
Not that it seems of much interest to Neil and Chris, hence we're only likely to hear snippets as per the Yentob doc last year.
So, the Boys in theory could repeat / re-stage Obscure in other venues or take it on tour.
Would you want this or should it just stay as a one-off week?
If organised by a promoter if course, they could rock up to a venue in future and offer to do Obscure one night and Dreanworld the next!

Weren’t there different set lists for different Somewhere shows? At least a couple of songs?
Not to the best of my knowledge, the Sam Taylor-Wood film and the songs were synced up duration wise.

I still remember the first time I heard part of Being Boring. As I was driving home from work, Richard Blade on KROQ radio in Los Angeles was playing snippets of the soon to be released 'Behavior', and was chatting with Neil about certain lyrics. Richard highlighted the lyric "I never dreamt that I...

My brother who follows social media told me that just at this moment there is a West End Girls trend on TikTok. Apparently people like acting out some of the songs lyrics.

There's something about Neil's look with those round sunglasses that is reminding me of Joss Ackland in 'It Couldn't Happen Here'!
Was wondering what it reminded me of and then realised it was the Opportunities Version 1 video, although they were round clear glasses rather than sunglasses.
Relentless was never the album that it could've been. Neil has talked about the missed opportunity of an expanded Relentless. My take is that that album could've had the following tracklist:
1-6 Relentless (as it was released)
7 Some Speculation
8 Let The Music Play
9 Euroboy
10 Absolutely...

Likewise, do you know who speaks in "Miracles (Lemon Jelly remix)" ? Sounds like Neil. That's not something that is present in the original version. I can't figure out what he says.

I picked up the new DVD today and have to say that it's a must-have for even the most jaded fan. In reality, it's two DVDs in one as the Glastonbury show could really have merited its own release. The BBC performances are much more than two men with a keyboard looking grumpy, bored, and...

Depeche Mode's new album is out, What do we think of it?
It's produced by James Ford who is working on PSB's upcoming album. And obviously Depeche Mode are a synth duo just like PSB.
Hopefully we get Neil & Chris' opinion of the album soon. No doubt they've got the finger on the pulse with this...

I've tried so hard to like Depeche Mode but I could never listen to a whole entire album in one go. I bores me to death. I only can listen to Violator (I know I'm not that original here) and Ultra. The rest is all just a blur to me. Like U2. Bored at the third or fourth song.
Not sure I would know what to do with it though ... nor do I have 50k kicking about either :D

Yeah, I imagine the complaint is that the New Order schedule is free of new music, and just a slow turn of recycling.

Let's go with this game. Here there is a list of potential songs that should have been single material from my perspective but they never were (you can add other ones if you want).
