Please take extreme care on emails from administration @ petshopboys-forum .com !!!!!!!!!!!
In the last days I recognise some emails about Tickets for PSB@ROH which I THINK could be a money trap. After we have to hold this email open for user requests and alerts via the contact link (at the...
I know yesterday (13th March) was the first time a new PSB track had been played in ages, but (as per the long standing forum rules) in future all public requests for copies of any new track, PSB or otherwise, will be deleted and/or threads containing requests closed. We will officially...

Thank you for the link leesmapman. I was already aware of them and found the last one does not include the first song they played (the Blur song Girls and Boys (PSB Remix)). For some reason it has been omitted from the youtube recording hence why I asked if anyone has their own recording.
Surprised that there’s no mention of this! I’ll re-watch as there was 2 snippets of small info that would excite some of you.
A really good listen too!
If I had 45 mins left to live I would probably listen to actually for the last time - which is discussed in this podcast.
Enjoy! X

It's a shame Neil is reluctant to do podcasts. I could listen to him just *talk* for hours. Kudos to Jake Shears for asking a question and letting Neil run with it uninterrupted. So many interviewers hardly let the subject get a word in edgeways.
He's getting warmer though, this is at least the...
Just wondering which of PSB albums have been released in instrumental versions
I know about:
Elysium - special edition of the album release
Hotspot - special edition of the album release
Electric - some kind of special release
Yes - was it only on a vinyl extremely limited edition?
Fundamental? -...

I'm starting this thread having not been able to find anything similar in Geowayne's otherwise pretty exhaustive collection of PSB lists - how many PSB songs can we find where Neil's lyrics quote other songs deliberately, or at least in a way that could be deliberate?
The obvious example is...

It's Marvin Gaye! But yes, good one. I was thinking more lines that are hidden in the lyrics - I Want You, and That's The Way I Like It in Party Song, are a bit more obvious, I suppose.
It’s actually Between two islands.
Whoops, of course it is. It's all filed under "I Get Along" in my head....
Hey hey guys!!!
This is my latest unboxing.
15 Nonetheless versions.
It's not an unboxing strictly since most of the stuff was already unboxed. The thing is I can't help opening stuff that comes around as soon as I get it. And on top of it, this time Nonetheless versions arrived at many...
Hey all! As a Canadian fan, when I go to the site to buy the CD singles, it redirects me to the Warner Music site, which isn't carrying them. I can work around that and order from the main store but then I will not only have to pay the Euro conversion but also the mysterious import fee. Amazon.ca...

I don't know what is happening with ordering the CD singles. I managed to order 1 single at my local recordstore (Plato) - Dancing Star -, and I tried to order Loneliness and Feel, but they couldn't get these.
Well, I was pleasantly surprised to see that chapter 2 of season 2 of this series begins with this song.
It's great news that they include more and more Pet Shop Boys songs in series and movies.
The Devil's Hour.

I really like this show and settled down to watch season 2 on Amazon prime and was delighted to hear in episode 2 pet shop boys cover of I started a joke playing! The boys are everywhere this year :D
Listening to the Nonetheless demos, I noticed the Feel demo bears striking sonic similarities to the Flamboyant demo. I know the music for Feel was written and recorded around the same time as Flamboyant, but I thought it might be possible they would re-record the music, even in demo form, for Feel...

I noticed the same thing! Also, the Barfly version of It's A Sin uses the same synth as used in the Feel demo. These were all done at the same time, so it'd make sense.
In the NLB/ATYD booklet it says that the phot of Chris Lowe is credited to "Chris Burscough". Who is this guy?
I've found an obituary from 2018 of an 58 year old man with the same name and some other stuff indicating an architectural background.
The photo was taken ca 1980 so before PSB time,...

Aw, that’s nice. Didn’t Chris say something about visiting friends in Preston when he was interviewed about Party in the Park? Maybe these are the friends.
I think everyone thinks here the strategy of Parlophone has been successful.

They could release Dark end of the street digitally in December and the physical in January, but this probably won't happen. "Naked" is still a long way off I think.
I was listening to Now Yearbook 1990 last night and the version of So Hard is not the single or album version. It starts off very much feeling like a live track, there's even backing singers during the chorus.
Given that this is a release for tracks in 1990, I feel that having a live track from...
At last. The waiting has been long but now I finally have all the 6 Maxi-CDs from all singles released this year.

Then when Feel and ANB got lost in the mail somewhere in...

I've just started catching up on the pre-Nightlife CD singles I don't possess, which is the vast majority. I wish to God I'd bought the Electric and Super CD singles as they're now exorbitantly expensive. I have all the vinyl singles from Did you see me coming? onwards (apart from the RSD ones)
The sweet tea mix is the Ben Liebrand 9 course suite remix
The NuDisco mix is listed elsewhere as the Ben Liebrand nu disco bass remix
the one listed simply as Extended mix (run time 6:15) is the Michael Gray Sultra Remix
I confirm! These are the titles as they appeared on Fri 22 Nov 2024
Took me a bit to find an actual promo with "US Radio Edits" #1 and #2, which are unique yet official. Once I finally got them and compared them with everything else, turns out there's at least six different edits of this single, including a rather obscure Mexican one, which seems to be a "fixed"...
Comparing, for example, Music for boys (Altern8 mix) to Decadence (unplugged mix), or Hold on to All the young dudes (I. JORDAN mix), what would you say is the most extreme gap in sound and style between any two PSB songs?
Last post
Comparing only songs released in the same period
I liked the idea and would go for If Love Were All and Euroboy .
I remember the days when people here used to say PSB were not more famous because of the lack of promotion they recieved. I'm not sure if this is true or false these days. I mean, what kind of exposure could they get (tv show, film, advert, etc) to see them on the official charts again?, can they...

Hi everyone! I keep reading about a bunch of demos and exclusives that used to be available on the Boys' website, and feel sad that it was only available before I was a fan. :( Is there a comprehensive list of the exclusive tracks that were available there, since I would like to hear most of those?...

I still have some of them as MP3s - however better versions have become available. I think at the time you could copy and paste them from a certain Windows folder / temp directory depending on Quicktime / RealPlayer / Windows Media Player. Always liked these little gifts back in the day.
Since "New London Boy" was considered the fifth single, would All The Young Dudes / West End Girls with the Manchester Camerata be considered the sixth single since it's available for streaming with two different versions? I mean, it also has unique artwork.

Since "New London Boy" was considered the fifth single, would All The Young Dudes / West End Girls with the Manchester Camerata be considered the sixth single since it's available for streaming with two different versions? I mean, it also has unique artwork.
Pet Shop Boys are pleased to reveal their latest single, “Feel”, which is now available as a five-track digital bundle at the link below. A CD single will be released on 27th September and is available to pre-order now.

I'd be really interested to know how Schlager-Hitparade (Deutsches Demo) and the album version was received in Germany. I have a great deal of affection for Schlager having spent many long childhood holidays in Germany in the 1980s. Whilst England is their first pop home I feel like Germany is...
We all know Neil loves to write songs about historical figures, many of which wind up as b-sides, but correct me if I’m
wrong, is this not the first ever PSB single which is primarily about a real life person who isn’t Neil?
Last post
Well, I don't know.
The single is the starting point but we can reason and wander around it, can't we?
People have been talking already about Agenda and you actually mentioned Jack the Lad and The resurrectionist, and they are b sides as well.
My comment also origins in the notion of a song being...
Wow! We sure have been lucky to get such wonderful b-sides during the "Nonetheless" era. And now on the final "Nonetheless" double-A side single "New London boy / All the young dudes" we get this incredible "Beauty has laid siege to the city" song:

The length works in its favour, allowing it to fully breathe. The one that drags on and on is Through you, the worst B side of the decade.
Thank you! I wouldn't say the worst, but I've never understood the glorification and praise "Through you" gets.
So PSB seem to be everywhere.
Two nights on prime Tv BBC
And I’m sitting here watching Tv 📺 in a hotel and every advert break the EE Left to my own devices advert has played.
It’s like returning to the 80’s 🤣🤣.
40 years on who’d have thought.

not really.
because they would be a lot more active on the charts.
and there would be a lot more vinyl releases. a lot more.
other than that. yes, in between the videos, concerts, singles, and releases,
it feels a little like older times somewhat.
Personally I think this is the best remix in years. Disappointed by all the remixes of the first four singles which just don't sit comfortably with the music IMO. This elevates the track to new heights. I'd put it in same category as Winner (HappySad) for improvement of a plodder beyond all...

Greetings,
This version certainly has a bit more mystique about it, but could do with being a bit more messed up and having some different lyrics (e.g. T-Rex dates the original terribly and is a meaningless reference for "young dudes" in 2024). I guess Neil reveres Bowie too much to do that....
Okay, firstly apols if this breaks a few rules but last year I digitised these old cassettes. As a result I have 10 x 1 hour mp3 files (2 for each day). I was going to upload them to YT but it seems they are too long for a standard account. Does anyone have any ideas how I could make them available...

Nice reply. I'm not going down a dictionary rabbit hole and there's no need for deep thinking. It's a case of does the album grab you or not.
There are plenty of "euphoric" tracks that don't grab me, so I agree it's a bit of a pointless debate. I wouldn't call Nonetheless a euphoric album, but I...

First few listens it's good, new music by the boys, but after a while I've realised it's not actually a very good song
It's not official but is a good remix and the visual from then and now work well and the remix has a part of the song with Chris on it. I wanted to create a thread of it because it's quite interesting to watch a listen to.

Be that as it may, I can't deny that this forum has become a much less irritating place with him on my Foe list.
We always talk about the kids of the fans from PSB. Of course, they love when daddy (I can't remember a mommy playing her kids music from PSB) plays their records but not too much about the ones who could discover them by themselves.

Hello! I’ve noticed that most teenagers today are really into pop, indie, R&B, soul music and more genres. A new documentary is being released this month - in theaters and streaming - about legendary artist and songwriter Allee Willis, co-writer of “What have I done to deserve this!” The trailer indicates that PSB are among the many interviews in the film. Looks good! x
A friend of mine just asked me informations about

It would be a track on an EMI promo CD dated 2013:
Does anybody have some more info about this remix and/or this promo CD?
I've never heard about such a mix before, and I suspect...

Artwork looks like a bootleg. The remix does not sound like Pet Shop Boys, especially like how they sounded in 2012/2013 when this CD apparently was released. No Neil vocals. Also, surely this would have been documented in Literally back in the days.
Does anybody know if the Swedish (Rolling dice sleeve) of One More Chance is an official release? It never got mentioned in either Catalogue or the original Annually. I always thought it was official but always kind of had doubts. Have N&C ever referenced it? They seem to pop up on eBay...
I was only aware of the late, great Sophie after viewing one of her videos in the V and A Diva exhibition. From the article:

I know you have been watching the cover of the new single and fall in love with Chris again. But we know perfectly well how women used to love Neil to give him more than a hug (except Lady Gaga who wanted Chris to give a Brit in private).

Neil was one of the first (if not THE first) celebrity crushes I had in my pre-teens way back in the day and I’ve always found him attractive.
Anyone a fan of Slow Horses on Apple TV? S04E03, the street market scene towards the end where the guy is being followed - this is Goulston Street which is where Neil and Chris cross the road at the start of the West End Girls video.
So there you go.

He also said that "A New Bohemia" is his favourite on the album.
I'm looking forward to mixes and b-sides.
