Please take extreme care on emails from administration @ petshopboys-forum .com !!!!!!!!!!!
In the last days I recognise some emails about Tickets for PSB@ROH which I THINK could be a money trap. After we have to hold this email open for user requests and alerts via the contact link (at the...
I know yesterday (13th March) was the first time a new PSB track had been played in ages, but (as per the long standing forum rules) in future all public requests for copies of any new track, PSB or otherwise, will be deleted and/or threads containing requests closed. We will officially...

Thank you for the link leesmapman. I was already aware of them and found the last one does not include the first song they played (the Blur song Girls and Boys (PSB Remix)). For some reason it has been omitted from the youtube recording hence why I asked if anyone has their own recording.
Please, give me results of official charts from different countries of "Nonetheless" with a link of the source and I can write them on this first post:
Scotland: #1
UK: #2
Switzerland: #2
Germany: #3
Austria: #3.
Australia: #3
Spain: #7

If it is true, isn't it funny how a difference of 20,000 copies sold in a week, whilst admittedly a lot, can affect the 'narrative' (hate that term, but sue me) of an album's success? I remember people saying how 'Behaviour' was a bit of a flop, or at least a disappointment sales-wise. I wonder how...
Hello everyone, I'm new here and just hoping someone can answer a question about In Denial. I have seen that there is an Orchestral Version of In Denial, but I can't find it or any information about it anywhere other that it being listed on the MixKylie website.

The thing was, when I listened to them on the website, they put themselves in a folder on my laptop… I just moved them to a more permanent folder… didn’t actually download anything….
Please don't post any news from Annually for another few days!
Or if you are, warn people that there are spoilers. I don't want to have anything else revealed until I've read it! :grumble: :grumble: :grumble: :grumble:

As someone else said, I have a feeling there may not be any more CDs in the future. I can't see Parly wanting to get involved in that
Is this the boys best track for some considerable time? It’s certainly got fans talking and for me it’s getting better and better. The darkness brooding within it on a generally optimistic album is a great juxtaposition and perfect as a closer.

Hi! Hope you are all well. I messed my order up when I was on the Vinyl Tap web-site for the Dancing Star cd. I some how clicked to send a cheque instead of online ordering it. They cashed the cheque a while ago but, no cd or e-mail to say they are sending it. Anyone having problems?

Give them a call. They are nice people and very helpful. It’s just a small shop.
Thank you Dog. :) I have tried to e-mail.
I saw something on here that suggested Vinyl Tap were having problems getting it in. I’m sure they will sort you out though.
Yes, you are right Dog - many thanks! I received...
I tried to make a list of Neil's solo songs he did in the 1970's (and in the 1980s before meeting Chris). I've gone through the 100 Lyrics book and sifted through most of the FL booklets. I guess, because of general lack of detailed information, I put a song on the list without concern if the...

So from the Annually 2024 we now know that Neil has recorded these songs (again):
Telephone blues (1971)
The man who got there first (1978)
Simple (1980)
1. Dancing star
2. Sense of time
3. If Jesus had a sister
4. Dancing star (Solomun extended remix)
5. Party in the Blitz (Superchumbo remix)
6. Dancing star (Solomun remix)
Just got my package I pre-ordered from the Official Store yesterday. Unfortunately, this is the second time that the vinyl records show up from the Official Store with creases in one of the corners. I understand that international shipping of vinyls is somewhat "begging for things to go wrong", but...

Amazon shipments rarely arrive without a dog-eared corner on a book or album sleeve. Honestly I don't think it's happening during shipping, I think it's already like that before it's dispatched, where they have to store and handle the product and likely the people who work there don't give two...
In this special 132-page second volume of Classic Pop Presents Pet Shop Boys, we pay tribute to the greatest pop duo of all time. In this issue, we revisit Neil Tennant and Chris Lowe's unmatched career, from West End Girls topping the charts in the UK, on through their self-titled ‘Imperial...

I can't remember which club it was - whether Liverpool or London - but it was the first time Chris had heard West End Girls on the dancefloor, and he was so embarrassed/nervous that he'd be recognised that he hid in the toilets.
First play - wow, how bad are all those remixes? All totally overwhelm whatever is good about the original track. All about the DJ ego trip rather than the track. Very disappointing, hopefully that will abate a little after the shock has sunk in.
Haven't yet assimilated the bonus tracks.

Superchumbo's take on Party in the Blitz might as well be the most dance floor suitable remix they've had done in the last 10 years.
Even with the lyrics.
I could easily hear it banging at an electronic music event.
And I mean one for connoisseurs, not the famous producer ones that usually headline...
I am very happy to see the boys back on the label. I feel they need a gentle push when it comes to how they do things and having the financial muscle of Parlophone is also a huge help. Already we are seeing:
1. The return of videos for all the singles.
2. More formats to their album releases. I...
So far there's been no news about mixes and stuff but do you think there will be:

Pleased with the Amazon exclusive transparent vinyl of Nonetheless but the outer sleeve is very flimsy and the inner sleeve also thinner than expected. Are all editions like this? Seems like the latest example of cutting costs to produce an inferior product. Interested to get other experiences...

I'm no expert but the packaging on the black, zoetrope and clear vinyl all seem identical to me. The inside of the outer sleeve has a glossy feel to it too which is in contrast to the outside.

I got the bluray a few days ago, last week I got an email from them.
So I have been listening to all the radio and pod casts promotion in support of "nonetheless". And of course I am intrigued that they have purposely communicated in many of the interviews that they have written a new "theatre piece" called "Naked" about the Hans Christian Andersen folktale "The...

Loneliness themes have appeared a lot of late in lyrics? So, is Neil lonely at almost 70?
Geowayne?
I think Loneliness though is probably because of Lockdown when it was recorded. But, it wasn't the greatest time in places. Personally, I am used to it. There are times tho.

You could have a "bus load" of friends and family but you can still feel lonely.
you can be lonely when being surrounded by your friends and family. When they can't understand your true self, or when you can't express yourself well
This part resonates with me.
When I was young(er), and my...
Very much of the opinion that music taste should be eclectic. Liking one music style should not limit you to just or principally that music style. Nowt wrong in liking Chas and Dave, underneath the jaunty and quite deliberate cheeky Cockney personas is a lot of skill and talent.
Hi everyone - longtime lurker but just recently joined the forum. :D
And funny timing, I was just listening to this week's Essential Mix by CC:Disco, and she included the Club Mix of Before on her mix. What a nice surprise.
Last night I tried a website to see if AI could make an instrumental of Being Boring.
Then, for some reason, I found myself using my work headset to redo the lyrics. Did it slightly differently.

 New Order for Sharons!
The irony of that comment is that Neil's lyrics are obviously far more erudite than Barney's.
I do think he has a point about synthpop no longer being the dominant force it was in the 80s and I seem to remember he was a fan (as this review attests) but still - as with...

This is where I get sort of obsessive, but I'd suggest, putting together the shreds of information we have so far, that this is not quite the ballad-heavy album we'd been led to expect:
Loneliness - fairly upbeat disco stomper
Feel - ballad but with a beats-filled climax
Why am I dancing? -...

Being Boring.
On my first few listens, I had to be woken up before I got to the end of this track. I just found it, well, incredibly boring. I know. The irony. However, I appreciate it’s a fan favourite so I preserved, bought the 12”extended mix and played and played. It sunk in and now I LOVE it....
"We should dig that out", Neil said in the Guardian livestream about the stuff they wrote for Madonna "to work with", I guess in 2006-7. So I suppose there is some stuff there which we haven't heard yet.

I think 'My side of the story' was mentioned once as a demo for Madonna. They talk a bit about it on the promo for one of the recent-ish further listening packs..
Neil regretted in the Guardian livestream that they never did a whole album with Dusty. But actually there are enough tracks for an album (using the long versions):

2. In Private (12'') 7:12
3. Daydreaming (12'' master) 8:18

It's actually on the 23rd of April. An early listening party.
One of the great joys of a new Pet Shop Boys album is the presence of an “instant classic” – that track that you absolutely adore on first contact which immediately becomes a permanent new entry in the hackneyed but hallowed “soundtrack of your life”. Not every long player has one, of course....

As someone posed on that youtube video, the Luna Park mix is not an unofficial leak..in fact, it has even an "official" video made around it!!, and it´s on youtube since 10 years ago, with very few views. The rare thing is that it remained out of the radar for almost everybody here!!
